For Group and Small Option Homes

We provide support for staff and residents in group and small option homes using the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Our services not only focus on reducing challenging behaviours, but also on building meaningful skills, improving quality of life, and creating supportive environments where everyone can thrive.

With a person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming approach, ABA recognizes each individual’s strengths, preferences, and communication style. The goal is to help people feel understood, safe, and empowered rather than trying to “fix” or “change” who they are.

Here’s how ABA can support group home staff and clients:

  • Staff Training & Skill Development: Staff learn practical strategies for supporting residents, such as how to encourage communication, increase independence, and respond compassionately to challenging situations. Training also helps staff recognize triggers and use proactive strategies, reducing stress for both staff and residents.
  • Decreasing Challenging Behaviours: Instead of focusing only on stopping behaviors, ABA helps uncover why the behaviour is happening. Staff are coached to replace challenges with more effective skills (like communication, coping strategies, or self-advocacy). This reduces frustration and increases success for residents.
  • Promoting Well-Being: By using reinforcement, routines, and choice-making, ABA helps residents build independence and participate more fully in daily life. This can mean learning new social skills, daily living skills, or ways to connect with peers and staff.
  • Collaborative & Compassionate Support: ABA works best when families, staff, and professionals work together. Training and ongoing coaching ensure that staff feel supported and confident, and residents receive consistent, compassionate care.

For Parents and Caregivers

We are a neurodiversity-affirming service provider, which means we respect and celebrate the unique ways that people with autism, ADHD, and developmental disabilities think, learn, and experience the world. Our coaching focuses on supporting individual needs rather than trying to “fix” anyone.

Parent and caregiver coaching is a collaborative process that gives families practical, evidence-based tools to address challenging behaviours in compassionate and meaningful ways. Grounded in the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and other research-backed strategies, our approach is designed to reduce stress, build skills, and create environments where the person you care for and your family can thrive.

Through coaching, you will:

  • Learn how behaviour works, what triggers it, what maintains it, and how to respond in a supportive way.
  • Practice using positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through.
  • Discover ways to prevent problem behaviours by adjusting routines, communication, and environments.
  • Support growth in communication, self-regulation, independence, and executive functioning skills (like planning, independence, organization, and emotional control).
  • Receive real-time feedback and encouragement to strengthen your confidence in managing difficult moments.

Our goal is not to change who the person you care for is, but to help them shine by building on their strengths and reducing barriers. Together, we’ll create strategies that honour individuality while giving you the tools to feel supported, capable, and empowered.
